Job summary

Parkway Elementary School is seeking an Elementary School Teacher to deliver instruction, assess student progress, and implement individualized learning plans within the district's curriculum.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and Missouri Teaching Certificate; it is a 9-month, exempt position reporting to the Building Principal, with eligibility for emergency telework and collaboration with staff and families to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and valid Missouri Teaching Certificate with proper certifications.
• Exempt status under FLSA.

Responsibilities

• Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
• To telework when requested by the District.
• Adapts classroom work for individualized learning plans within established lesson plans.
• Administers developmental testing programs and assessments.
• Advises parents/guardians of student progress and communicates expectations.
• Assesses student progress towards objectives and goals.
• Builds positive teacher/student relationships to engage students.
• Collaborates with staff, parents and community resources to improve outcomes.
• Collaborates with teachers to implement curriculum and student plans.
• Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, and volunteers to support classrooms.
• Facilitates student learning and supports development of life skills.
• Implements plans for literacy, math, health and nutrition within guidelines.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Monitors classroom environment and student wellbeing.
• Organizes activities for student participation.
• Participates in meetings to share information and coordinate.
• Performs other related duties to ensure effective functioning.
• Prepares written materials documenting progress and mandated requirements.
• Reports incidents for safety and compliance.
• Responds to emergencies and inquiries from various sources.
• Serves as a positive role model for professional conduct.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
