Job summary

St. Joseph School District is seeking an Elementary School Teacher (Parkway Elementary School). The position requires a Bachelor's Degree and a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate with proper certifications.

Telework may be available as requested by the District, under a 9-month term schedule. Responsibilities include planning lessons, assessing student progress, communicating with families, and collaborating with staff to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and valid Missouri Teaching Certificate with proper certifications are required.
• Preferred: Previous Experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend work regularly and punctually.
• Telework when requested by the District.
• Adapt classroom activities to address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans.
• Administer tests and assessments to monitor student progress and develop learning plans.
• Communicate student progress to parents/guardians and plan improvements at home.
• Assess student progress toward objectives and provide feedback to students, parents and administrators.
• Foster positive teacher/student relationships to engage students in relevant activities.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and resources to improve student outcomes and meet school goals.
• Assist other teachers and staff in implementing curriculum and student plans.
• Demonstrate methods to deliver instruction addressing student needs.
• Supervise assistant teachers, student teachers and volunteers as needed.
• Support student learning through various activities and courses.
• Implement plans covering academic, behavior, health and nutrition aspects as required.
• Maintain safe environment and manage student behavior.
• Monitor classrooms and various settings to ensure safety and learning quality.
• Organize age-appropriate indoor/outdoor activities to boost participation.
• Participate in meetings to share information and collaborate.
• Perform other duties to ensure effective functioning of the work unit.
• Prepare written records such as grades and attendance for mandated reporting.
• Report incidents for safety and compliance with policies.
• Respond to emergencies and inquiries to resolve issues.
• Model professional conduct and positive behavior.
