Job summary

Methuen Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Teacher for Grades 1–3 to provide direct instruction and support high achievement for all students. The district seeks a licensed educator with SEI endorsement, preferably bilingual, and a background in data-driven instruction and inclusive practices.

The position offers a salary range of $60,253 to $113,226 and requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) with strong collaboration and lesson-planning skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in the area of major study; Master's degree preferred.
• Massachusetts Teaching license in Early Childhood, PK-2 or PK-3 with SEI Endorsement required; Additional content area license encouraged.
• Bilingual preferred – community languages: English, Spanish, Arabic, French.

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide direct instruction to students in Kindergarten in order to deliver Methuen Public Schools high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the achievement gap among subgroups within the schools.

Methuen Public Schools enrolls approximately 7000 in a total of five schools. Methuen Public Schools has four PK-8 schools: the Comprehensive Grammar School, the Marsh Grammar School, the Tenney Grammar School, the Timony Grammar School, and one comprehensive high school: Methuen High School. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Massachusetts Teaching license in Early Childhood, PK-2 or PK-3 with SEI Endorsement is required. Additional content area license is encouraged.

At least a Bachelor's Degree in the area of major study. Master's degree preferred.

Bilingual preferred - Primary languages spoken in the community are: English, Spanish, Arabic, and French.

• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
