Job summary

Woodford County Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant (Kindergarten and Special Education) to support classroom activities and reinforcement of material under teacher supervision. The role includes clerical support, preparing materials, assisting with lunch and snack routines, and helping with behavior development strategies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Deep interest in working with target population.
• Ability to perform assigned tasks.
• Pass health examination.
• No immoral or criminal history.
• Ability to work with staff and children.

Responsibilities

• Assist school personnel to meet children’s needs and free teachers from repetitive tasks.
• Assist with clerical duties such as typing, filing, and reports.
• Help prepare for class activities with the teacher.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce material.
• Serve as information source for substitutes and guide teacher sessions.
• Assist in developing class materials and with classroom activities such as snacks and lunch.
• Record student behaviors if needed and alert teachers to any issues.
• Participate in in-service training and help devise strategies for reinforcement and behavior development.
• Other duties as assigned by Teacher/Principal/Special Education Supervisor.
