Job summary

MCHENRY COMMUNITY CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL DISTRICT 15 is seeking a Kindergarten S.A.I.L. Paraprofessional for Valley View Elementary School to support students in the Autism Program.

The role requires a valid Paraprofessional License and 60 college credits or Work Keys, with a 175-day, full-time schedule. The paraprofessional will promote a safe learning environment, assist with instructional tasks, and collaborate with teachers, parents and administration; CPI training is preferred or willingness

Qualifications

• Current and valid paraprofessional license.
• 60 college credit hours or Work Keys test.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Ability to promote a safe environment including physical intervention as needed according to protocol.
• CPI training preferred or willing to train.
• Ability to work as a cooperating member of a team and effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents and administration; Positive attitude and dependability a must.
• Willingness or experience working with young children with special needs.

Minimum Qualifications/Required Skills

• Current and Valid Paraprofessional License; 60 college credit hour or Work Keys Test/other ISBE requirement for obtaining Paraprofessional License.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities/Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to promote a safe environment including physical intervention as needed according to protocol.
• Candidates with CPI training preferred or willing to train.
• Ability to work as a cooperating member of a team and effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents and administration; Positive attitude and dependability a must.

Pay And Benefits

• $17.50/hour starting plus benefits. The District can provide additional credit to candidates who have prior work experience.
