Job summary

Sixes Elementary School in Canton, Georgia is seeking a Kindergarten Paraprofessional for a half‑day, afternoon position. The role supports the classroom teacher and assists with instructional activities for students during the 180‑day work year.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree and must pass the GACE Ethics and Paraprofessional Assessments as required, with duties including small-group instruction, data collection, and assisting with IEP-related plans.

Qualifications

• Education level must be in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines; certification as mandated by the Professional Standards Commission.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or passing of the GACE Ethics Assessment and GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Uses appropriate instructional strategies and techniques to support learning as prescribed by qualified staff.
• Provide support to selected students in resource, self-contained and/or regular classroom settings.
• Assist and adhere to plans or accommodations required by IEP, behavior plans, healthcare plans, etc.
• Assist with supervision of students including classroom and school-wide supervision such as loading/unloading buses.
