Job summary

Denver Public Schools seeks a dedicated educator to counsel students, support achievement, and uphold school and District policies. This temporary assignment runs October 12, 2026 through March 9, 2026, with responsibilities across classroom instruction and student supervision.

Candidates hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field and reside in Colorado. The role involves documenting performance, communicating with families, and collaborating with staff to create engaging lessons

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
  • Monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students.
  • Observes, evaluates, reports, and records students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Prepares educational course outlines, objectives, and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
  • Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to students.
  • Presents subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning style.
  • Instructs students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods (e.g., lectures, technology, discussions).
  • Prepares, administers, assigns, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software.
  • Prepares student, attendance and activity reports as required by administrators.
  • Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral and academic problems and coordinates instructional efforts.
