Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for the role.
• Appropriate Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification for Kindergarten.
• Early Childhood Education PK–3 or Elementary Education K–6 certification preferred.
• Experience working with elementary students, especially Kindergarten.
• Strong classroom-management, communication, organizational and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily instruction aligned with curriculum, standards and grade-level expectations.
• Implement established lesson plans and develop instructional materials as needed.
• Maintain consistent routines, procedures and behavioral expectations.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, developmental and social-emotional needs.
• Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate records.
• Communicate professionally with families about student learning and classroom matters.
• Collaborate with grade-level teachers, specialists, staff and administration.
• Participate in faculty meetings, PD and school responsibilities.
• Maintain student confidentiality and comply with all policies.
• Perform other duties consistent with a Kindergarten classroom teacher.
