Job summary

Great Hearts Academies in Goodyear, AZ, is seeking a Kindergarten Lead Teacher. The role guides K-5 learners with a nurturing approach and uses Spalding Phonics, Singapore Math, History, Science, and Literature to foster curiosity and a love of learning.

Position Title: Kindergarten Lead Teacher Location: Archway Trivium Academy, 2001 N Bullard Ave, Goodyear, AZ Reports To: Headmaster FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

Role

About the K-5 Teacher Role: As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning. Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature. As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.

  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
  • Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
  • Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
  • Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
Required/Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
  • Certification is not required for general education
  • All majors are welcome
  • US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
  • Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
