Job summary

The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township in Indianapolis area seeks a part-time Kindergarten Instructional Assistant at Clearwater Elementary School to support classroom teachers and students.

You will assist with lesson materials, monitoring, small group tutoring, data tracking, and maintaining a safe, respectful learning environment under supervision. Requires high school diploma or GED and paraprofessional exam if needed.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Must pass paraprofessional exam if < 60 college credit hours.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in classroom instruction by providing and preparing lesson materials, monitoring the students during their work and helping them in their learning where necessary.
Observe students' activities to ensure student safety and well-being and intervene when necessary; use student data to inform instructional practices.
Ensure materials for teaching are prepared and available in the instruction space.
Provide re-teaching and tutoring sessions around core instruction as delivered.
Collaborate with teaching staff to identify students below standards and support their learning.
Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
