Job summary

McCracken Lone Oak Elementary School in Paducah, Kentucky is seeking an Instructional Assistant – Kindergarten to support a certificated teacher and assist with instruction for individuals or small groups. You will monitor student progress and help with classroom activities to reinforce learning.

Ideal candidates will be reliable, patient, and capable of following directions. 48 hours of college credit and an associate degree are encouraged; basic computer skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Assist certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups; monitor and report student progress.
• Tutor individuals or small groups, reinforce instruction and maintain student progress records.
• Familiarity with early childhood education and working with children in organized settings.

Responsibilities

• Implement rules, policies and guidelines adopted by the Board of Education and/or school SBDM Council.
• Prepare and organize lessons; administer and score tests according to guidelines.
• Monitor and report student behavior; assist with lab work and tests as needed.
• Provide classroom support by setting up materials, operating AV equipment and distributing supplies.
