Job summary

T. Haley Elementary School in Irving, Texas (Irving ISD) seeks a Kinder ESL Teacher for the 26-27 school year to provide targeted ESL instruction and support elementary learners. This exempt position reports to the campus principal and aligns with local funding sources.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate. Completion of Texas Reading Academy is required for Elementary; ESL Supplemental Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned.
• Completion of Texas Reading Academy required for Elementary.
• ESL Supplemental Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and regulations.
• Use data to plan and implement instructional/learning strategies reflecting individual needs ( gifted, bilingual/ESL, 504).
• Modify curricula with special education staff as needed per IEP guidelines.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides/volunteers in the classroom.
• Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning processes.
