Job summary

Irving ISD in Irving, TX, is seeking a 1st Grade ESL Teacher (26-27 SY) at T. Haley Elementary School. The primary purpose is to provide engaging language instruction and support student growth across core subjects.

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate for the assigned subject/level, with the ESL supplemental certification preferred. Minimum experience includes student teaching or approved internship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned.
• Completion of Texas Reading Academy required for Elementary.
• ESL Supplemental Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Access and use available data to plan and implement instructional/learning strategies that accommodate individual needs (gifted, bilingual/ESL, 504, etc.).
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEP guidelines.
• Coordinate with staff to plan and implement instructional goals and methods per district requirements.
• Supervise teacher aide(s)/volunteer(s) and ensure effective classroom activities.
• Utilize appropriate technologies to strengthen teaching and learning.
