Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 48 semester hours including 15 sem hrs in language arts, reading, writing, math or professional education.
• Passage of ParaPro or related assessment (ParaPro, ParaEducator, Basic Skills).
• NM Public Education Educational Assistant Level III License required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional relationship with staff and students.
• Assists with classroom management routines.
• Assists teacher in working with parents.
• Under supervision, tutors individual students or groups.
• Prepares classroom activities under teacher supervision.
• Performs clerical work.
• Assists in preparing displays and bulletin boards.
• Cares for equipment.
• Assists teacher with classroom activities.
• Supervises playground, cafeteria, bus loading and other school activities.
• Participates in inservice training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
