Qualifications

• Experience with diverse learners and classroom management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans comprehensive courses of study and correlating lesson plans and materials.
• Teaches assigned students to motivate and develop academic and social skills.
• Provides a balanced program of instruction considering various learning styles.
• Creates lesson plans that respect students’ cultural and individual backgrounds.
• Guides students toward curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives.
• Establishes classroom rules and maintains an orderly learning environment.
• Collaborates with teachers to evaluate needs and coordinate instructional efforts.
• Makes accommodations for IEPs and 504 plans as required.
• Communicates with parents about progress and expectations; maintains confidentiality.
• Updates attendance and grades in the student management system.
• Assesses progress using tests, assignments, and observations; prepares reports.
• Administers standardized tests following state guidelines; attends trainings.
• Provides leadership to classroom assistants and delegates duties.
• Organizes field trips and other approved educational activities.
• Monitors student use of computers and equipment per policy.
• Maintains proper documentation for compliance with district and state regulations.
• Remains available to students and parents outside instructional hours when needed.
• Reports suspected child abuse/neglect and other safety concerns as required.
• Contributes to a safe school environment and participates in staff meetings and professional development.
• Performs other duties as required.
