Job summary

Gallup-McKinley County Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant for the Kindergarten program at David Skeet Elementary. The role supports the teacher with classroom activities, grading, and student supervision in a 194-day contract.

Must hold a Level III Educational Assistant license from NMPED and a high school diploma. The assistant will help deliver curriculum, manage records, assist with lesson plans, and supervise students to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of early childhood development basics and classroom management.
• Familiar with organizing records, attendance, and grades.
• Proficient with basic office/classroom equipment and computers.
• Understanding of state and district curriculum guidelines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in delivering course objectives and lesson outlines.
• Support students with assignments and reinforce learning concepts.
• Maintain files, attendance, grade records, and confidentiality.
• Operate classroom and AV equipment as needed.
• Support classroom rules and safe, orderly environment.
• Coordinate class field trips and supervise during activities.
