Job summary

Glendover Elementary School seeks a Kindergarten Paraeducator (0.7 FTE) to assist a certified teacher, monitor student progress and support instructional activities. The role reports to the principal and is part of the Fayette County Public Schools system in Lexington, KY.

The position requires a minimum of 48 college credits or Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment completion, with experience assisting youth and families from diverse backgrounds. Regular attendance and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credit hours or successful completion of the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or completion of an Associate's Degree
• Experience working with youth in an organized setting and some instructional experience in a classroom environment working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals or small groups and monitor student progress.
• Collaborate with parents and instructional team; serve as a resource to student personnel evaluation team.
• Transport students to and from activities and assist in preparation.
• Prepare and organize lessons; administer and score tests per guidelines; assist in determining English proficiency of identified students.
• Assist in administering diagnostic and other tests; score and record test information; monitor IEP as necessary.
• Monitor and report student behavior; report progress and maintain attendance records.
