BCDkindergarten assistant teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Work in collaboration with lead teachers in BCD’s kindergarten classes;
• Provide a stimulating, creative and an appropriately challenged or appropriately differentiated educational environment, including opportunities for children to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
• Use best practices regarding student-centered instruction, collaboration, and authentic assessment;
• Participate in ongoing training in literacy, differentiation, and other appropriate topics;
• Provide regular and thorough communication to all BCD constituencies (students, parents, and colleagues);
• Support enrollment and retention by assisting with tours, events, and other school outreach; and
• Perform other duties as directed by the Head of School.

Salary and Benefits

• Annual salary from $40,000 to $44,000 annually, 10 month schedule
• Please note that there is the potential that this will be a one-year engagement only

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

• Demonstrated passion for teaching elementary school children;
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or coursework in early childhood education with a degree in another field;
• Verifiable experience working with children;
• Experience teaching in an early childhood setting;
• Knowledge of or background in independent schools;
• Ability to differentiate within each class;
