Job summary

Idaho Forest Group in Moyie Springs, ID, is looking for an experienced Boiler/Kiln Operator to maintain a wood-fueled boiler and kiln-dry lumber to target moisture levels. You will monitor pressure, manage fuel, and operate forklifts to load/unload kilns while ensuring safety and reliability on shift.

The role offers competitive pay ranging from $26.83 to $31.17 per hour DOE, with a $2.00 per hour shift differential where applicable, plus full benefits after 30 days and 401(k) with 5% company

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Forklift certification required.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.
Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain a wood-fueled boiler to produce lumber with specified moisture content.
Monitor boiler pressure and steam flow, manage silo fuel levels, and control kiln operations with computer systems.
Operate forklift to load/unload kilns, change kilns, and dump hopper.
Supervise or cover sawmill/planer drivers when needed; participate in training and cross-training.
