Job summary

Mullican Flooring, LP in New York, NY seeks a motivated, entry-level Boiler/Dry Kiln Helper to assist boiler/kiln operators, learn SOPs, and grow into an experienced operator.

This full-time, 3rd shift role offers competitive benefits and on-site work; safety is a priority, and employees gain hands-on experience in drying lumber with a wood-fired boiler.

You will work with a team, perform rounds, document daily reports, and build a career in hardwood manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow oral or written instructions issued by supervisors.
• Perform a variety of duties which may often change.
• Evaluate information using measurable standards.
• Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure.
• Ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to complete daily reports as required.
• Understand basic mathematical skills.
• Understand basic machine components and operation.

Responsibilities

• Hourly rounds/walk throughs throughout the mill.
• Responsible for cleaning up the boiler area and reporting of any potential dangers.
• Assist boiler operator as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
