Location

We relocate teams based on project needs, aligning with individual development plans and career goals. The preferred location for this position is Lenexa, KS, but other locations may be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize applicable engineering codes (national and local)
  • Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding, and lighting systems from concept to completion using engineering documents, sketches, or vendor data
  • Report project updates and issues to the project lead
  • Coordinate with the project team via the Project Database and related processes
  • Develop 3D models from drawings, sketches, and design inputs
  • Check models for interferences and constructability
  • Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate cable schedules
  • Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs
  • Perform calculations to verify conduit fill, cable tray systems, and pull boxes per NEC standards
  • Layout electrical equipment and properly size cables and raceways
  • Gather information to develop designs and verify voltage separation requirements
  • Create plan drawings and detailed electrical deliverables
  • Ensure designs meet quality standards and safety regulations
  • Review and resolve checked drawings and comments
  • Assist construction in field resolution of issues
  • Adhere to company standards to produce quality deliverables
  • Report progress to the Lead Designer
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in electrical design or drafting
  • Experience with 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or SmartPlant 3D; SmartPlant 3D preferred
  • Ability to conceptualize in 3D
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Navisworks and Microsoft Office suite
  • DOE and commercial nuclear experience preferred but not required
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
  • Ability to pass background checks and represent Kiewit professionally
  • Willingness to seek and utilize feedback
