Job summary

YMCA of Florida’s First Coast is seeking a part-time Early Learning/Childcare staff member. The role provides direction for the program, implements curriculum, and ensures a high-quality experience for children and families.

Shifts are mornings, nights, and weekends. The position offers a base pay of $15.00 per hour and includes a free YMCA branch membership. Emphasis on safety, parent engagement, and program quality within a welcoming community.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Experience working with children in developmental settings preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations and building authentic relationships.

• Conducts parent conferences and maintains positive relationships with parents.

• Attends family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
• Uses Daxko Engage to build relationships with members and children and promotes programs.
• Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including safety and child abuse prevention.
• Ensures health and safety of all members/guests and inspects facilities.

• Maintains program site and equipment. Ensure the area is safe.
• Maintains required program records.
• Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
• Use Daxko Engage technology to build relationships with members and children. Encourages and sells programs.
• Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention.
• Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
• Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness of facilities.

Qualifications:

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
