Compensation: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Coaches help parents discover their child’s superpowers and build future‑ready kids who are confident in making friends, running the playground, and raising their hand high in the classroom. Coaches develop kids who will win at life by following our milestone accelerator curriculum, living the KidStrong and KidStrong Coach DNA, and committing to contributing quality work both to our Families and the greater KidStrong Team.
Responsibilities
- Coach students by delivering an evolving curriculum that focuses on Brain, Physical, and Character development up to 24 hours a week.
- Achieve Coach Certification through the HQ Training and Certification team.
- Understand the “why” behind the KidStrong curriculum and be able to clearly and concisely communicate it.
- Coach classes for students with age groups ranging from roughly 15 months‑old to 11 years‑old.
- Create positive interactions with students and families before, during, and after class.
- Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading class.
- Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various programming and curriculum elements.
- Use the KS Coaches App to record data and provide data (attendance, awards, etc.).
- Communicate professionally with co‑workers in Slack, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers.
- Have a minimum availability of 6 hours per week.
- Ensure classes start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum.
- Work in a physically intensive environment—may cover multiple miles in a shift, lift and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Ensure proper technique and student safety while working with children.
- Assist parents of students ages 3 and younger with the direction and flow of a class.
- Lead monthly center staff programming meetings where staff receive training for the following month’s programming.
- Complete trainings through LearnUpon as required by the Head Coach and/or HQ Training and Certification team.
- Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the Head Coach.
- Learn and manage KidStrong Camps held by centers when local schools are not operating (e.g., Winter Break, Summer Break).
Skills / Qualifications
- Passion for working with children is non‑negotiable.
- Athletic or coaching background; ideally with experience coaching kids ages walking to 11.
- Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding a variety of topics.
- Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus, but not required.
- Positive, motivating public speaking and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to schedule.
- Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics.
- CPR certified.
- Self‑starter who just gets the job done.
- Enjoy the spotlight, excel in coaching, and mentoring.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but includes mentoring; therefore strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
