The YMCA is seeking a Kids Zone Representative to supervise and lead activities for children aged 6 weeks to 11 years. You will ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards while delivering Christian-valued programming and excellent member service at the William G.

White Jr Family YMCA and Robinhood Road Family YMCA. Responsibilities include leading age-appropriate activities, maintaining attendance records, and collaborating with staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working with children or in a related field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with children of various ages and abilities.
  • Flexible schedule and team player attitude.
  • Ability to maintain a safe environment.
  • ASHI (CPR) certification within 30 days of employment (training provided).

Responsibilities

  • Lead educational, age-appropriate and Christian-valued activities for children.
  • Maintain health, safety and cleanliness standards of Kids Zone.
  • Provide superior customer service to members and their children.
  • Implement assigned programming and maintain attendance records.
  • Supervise children with emphasis on safety and wellness.
  • Communicate with staff in a positive manner and attend trainings.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Job description

Under the direction of the Kids Zone Coordinator and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, a Kids Zone Representative is responsible for supervising and leading activities to engage children in play and learning, while ensuring standards of health and safety are met.ResponsibilitiesLead educational, age-appropriate and Christian-valued activities for children ages 6 weeks-11 yearsMaintain health, safety and cleanliness standards of Kids ZoneProvide superior customer service to members and their childrenImplement assigned programmingMaintain accurate records relating to attendanceProvide care and supervision of children in Kids Zone with emphasis on overall safety and wellnessCommunicate appropriately with other staff members in a positive mannerAttend staff meetings and complete all required trainingsAssist with other duties as assignedVarying shifts 7:45 am to 12:15 pm Monday through Saturday, 3:45 to 8:15 pm Monday through Thursday, and 12:45 to 5:15 pm on Sundays. Location: William G. White Jr Family YMCA and the Robinhood Road Family YMCA.
