Job summary

Centric Brands Inc. in New York is seeking a Technical Designer for the Kids division to execute vision with impeccable fit, construction and design aesthetics on licensed contemporary girl brands such as Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.

The role collaborates with design and cross-functional teams, creates tech packs, manages fittings, and ensures on-time delivery through pre-production processes while maintaining high accuracy and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of girls silhouettes, construction, sewing techniques, related textiles and trim.
• Technical understanding of body growth and how it applies to fit.
• Knowledge of pattern making, construction, industry fit knowledge and grading.
• Comprehensive understanding of product engineering, development, manufacturing and child safety guidelines.
• Ability to lead fittings, take detailed and accurate notes.
• High accuracy in math skills for correct spec revisions.
• Superior organizational and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Flex PLM, Adobe products, Microsoft Office and 3D Browzwear.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high performance environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.
• Graduate with degree in Fashion Technical Design / Patternmaking
• 5+ years working inChildren’stechnical design experience required

Responsibilities

• Partner with design team to achieve aesthetic while adhering to production calendar.
• Collaborate with Technical Design Director and cross-functional partners for fit and function.
• Manage all technical requirements from product development to production.
• Create and maintain detailed tech packs with specs, tolerances, grading, construction and fit comments.
• Measure and evaluate garments from proto to TOP samples.
• Conduct fit sessions on live models and mannequins to evaluate samples for fit and construction.
• Provide technical direction on corrective actions to bring samples to brand fit and styling requirements.
• Issue grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval.
• Maintain partnership with production teams to ensure on-time delivery during pre-production.
