Job summary

The Community Group in Lawrence, MA is seeking a Bus Monitor to ensure the safety and well-being of children during transit to and from day care. You will ride with children daily, help with car seats, maintain a route log, and communicate with parents and programs under supervision of the Program Director.

Responsibilities include supervising boarding, ensuring emergency forms are on file, reporting issues, and participating in required trainings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-aged children.
• Ability to communicate in English/Spanish effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the care, safety, and well-being of children in transit.
• Ride with children daily and ensure car seats/seat belts are secure.
• Maintain a written bus route and keep a current copy for the Program Director.
• Take responsibility for car seats and their maintenance.
• Ensure each child is accounted for and proper release forms are on file.
• Report problems to the Program Director and maintain confidentiality.
• Ensure safe entry/exit of children and release to approved adults.
• Conduct bus evacuation drills and participate in required trainings.
• Provide an inclusive program for all children and families.
• Attend staff meetings and complete required certifications.
