Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking a part-time Retail Party & Event Host in New York to plan and coordinate in-store events including children’s parties and craft classes. You will engage guests of all ages, demonstrate projects, and help with checkout and store tasks to ensure a fun, safe experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple events, managing add-ons, and maintaining store standards while communicating with clients and the team.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent people skills; strong written and verbal communication.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Ability to handle job stress and interact with guests of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity; demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities.
• Provide fast and friendly checkout experience and help customers shop; enroll in Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; complete administrative tasks such as emails and calls.
• Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event; create backup or emergency plans as needed.
