Job summary

Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking enthusiastic Gymnastics Instructors for the 2026-2027 school year in Portland, OR. Flexible schedules offer 4 to 15+ hours weekly, with some weekend work and summer camps through August.

Prior coaching or teaching is preferred, and training is available for those with limited spotting experience. You will lead classes, monitor progress, ensure safety, and collaborate with the Gymnastics Supervisor to enhance program quality.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children and helping them learn, grow, and succeed.
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and commitment to member service.
• Ability to create an inclusive, supportive environment for all ages and abilities.
• Previous experience coaching, teaching, childcare, camps, sports, recreation, or gymnastics preferred.
• Gymnastics experience helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn spotting techniques and class management skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position (spotting, moving equipment, standing).

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging and age-appropriate gymnastics classes in a positive, professional, and encouraging manner.
• Teach fundamental gymnastics skills while supporting each student's growth and development.
• Monitor progress and adapt instruction to varying skill levels and learning styles.
• Create a safe learning environment by following safety procedures and conducting checks.
• Prepare lesson plans and class activities to keep participants motivated and engaged.
• Communicate with parents, provide updates, answer questions, and support participant success.
• Arrive prepared for classes and assist with setup, cleanup, and equipment organization.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions and collaborate with the Gymnastics Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and uphold Club policies and safety standards.
