Job summary

South Park Church is seeking a Kids Corner Associate Director (Birth–Kindergarten) to shepherd volunteers, nurture families, and create vibrant, safe spaces where kids thrive in Jesus. You will recruit and coach leaders, forming shepherd-leader teams and building a supportive volunteer culture.

Collaborate with the Children’s Ministry Director to craft a Jesus-centered ministry vision, leading events like VBS and holiday programs while equipping families to disciple children at home.

Qualifications

• Experience in ministry/education leadership preferred (3 years)
• Passion for discipling children and families
• Strong relational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Volunteer Cultivator: identify, recruit, and coach new leaders
• Team Cheerleader: build high-energy teams with regular huddles and care
• Strong Leadership Partner: collaborate with Children’s Ministry Director on a Jesus-centered vision
• Family Partner: equip parents to be primary spiritual leaders at home

Passionate leader who loves seeing children grow in Jesus while equipping an amazing team of volunteers to do the same? We are looking for a relational, vision-driven Kid’s Corner Associate Director (Birth–Kindergarten) to shepherd our leaders and volunteers, nurture our families, and create vibrant, safe spaces where kids thrive.

The Mission (If One Accepts It):

The candidate isn’t just managing programs; but building a thriving community of shepherd-leaders and ministry teams. The primary goal is to love, support, and empower our volunteers so they can, in turn, effectively disciple the children.

The “Fun” Responsibilities:

• Volunteer Cultivator (Shepherd-Leader):Identify, recruit, and coach new leaders, moving them from supporters to shepherd-leaders.
• Team Cheerleader:Build community-based, high-energy teams through regular “huddles” and personal care (one-on-ones, prayer, and encouragement).
• Strong Leadership Partner:Collaborate with the Children’s Ministry Director to craft a fun, Jesus-centered ministry vision, which includes epic events like VBS and holiday programs.
• Family Partner:Equip parents to be the primary spiritual leaders at home.
• Culture Creator:Foster a culture of appreciation and safety (handwritten notes, public praise, and rigorous safety checks and processes).

• Loves Jesus & Kids: One has a growing faith and a huge heart for nurturing children.
• A People Person: Strong relational intelligence, communication skills, and a “shepherd’s heart”.
• A Coach: Experience in developing teams and delegating tasks effectively.
• Experience:3 years in ministry/education leadership is preferred, but not critical.
• Education : A degree in Bible, Theology, or Education is great, but a passion for discipleship is essential.
