Job summary

Kohler Co. is seeking a Kids Core Staff I for onsite work supporting children aged 6 months to 13 years during Kids Core hours. The role is full-time with hours varying by weekly programs and operating hours.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, assisting with sign-in/out, and coordinating with parents. CPR/AED certification is required and prior childcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a caring, friendly demeanor and previous child care experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service, mentoring and leadership skills required.
• Physical requirements include mobility and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
• Certification in Adult/Child CPR and AED obtained on site shortly after employment.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provide a safe, protected environment and assist with washroom duties and snacks.
• Maintain a clean, healthy environment; care for toys and equipment; ensure children are not left unattended.
• Perform cleaning and organizing duties when no children are present and update displays as needed.
• Provide care with comfort, affection, and discipline; support individuality and positive interactions.
• Assist with sign-in/sign-out procedures and understand fee structure for Kids Core usage.
• Maintain open rapport with parents; communicate important information and contact parents if a health issue arises.

Kids Core Staff I

Work Mode: Onsite

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Hours are dependent on programs scheduled each week. Remaining hours are typically worked in Kids Core during normal operating hours.

Compensation

$11.80-$17.70

Kids Core Hours of Operation

• Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
• Sunday: Closed

What We’re Looking For

Provide quality care to children ages 6 months – 13 years old of members, guests and associates during the Kids Core hours of operation. Protect and promote the development of children as individuals and as members of a peer group. Assist with special events and parties, as needed.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Under supervision, provide a safe, protected environment. Assist with washroom chores, snacks brought into the Kids Core; maintain order and cleanliness standards according to policies.
2. Promote and maintain a clean, healthy physical environment within the Kids Core areas of responsibility. Maintain toys and equipment and provide recommendations regarding purchase. Ensure children do not leave the Kids Core unattended and that the room(s) are never unattended with children present.
3. When there are no children in the room, assume responsibility for cleaning and organizing, updating of displays and other duties in need of attention.
4. Care for specific and personal needs of each child. Includes providing comfort and consistent affection and discipline. Encourage uplifting interaction and activity; understand and promote individuality.
5. Be available to all children arriving and leaving, and assist parents with the sign-in and sign out procedures. Understand the fee structure for Kids Core usage and ensure adequate payment for these services.
6. Maintain a friendly and open rapport with parents. Communicate important information concerning children to parents. Contact parents whose children affect the health of other children or place too much demand on the provider.

Skills/Requirements

1. Kids Core Staff I: Entry level position. Must possess a caring, friendly demeanor. Creativity and outgoing personality with previous child care experience is preferred.
2. Excellent customer service, mentoring and leadership skills are required. Effective organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks are required in this position.
3. Physical Requirements: Sit, stand, walk, run, bend, squat, crawl, lift overhead, reach, lifting of up to 50 pounds occasionally and lifting of up to 25 pounds frequently.
4. Certification Requirements: Adult/child CPR, adult AED. These can be accomplished on site shortly after being employed at Sports Core.

The hourly range for this position is $11.80 - $17.70. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
