Job summary

The Madison Area YMCA is seeking a friendly, responsible Kids Central Instructor to provide a safe, welcoming environment for children while parents use the facility.

You will greet families, supervise activities, and lead enrichment programs with a focus on safety and engagement. This role requires energy, reliability, and the ability to interact with children throughout shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Enjoy working with children and families.
• Reliable, attentive, and able to engage with kids throughout shifts.
• Able to greet and interact with parents during drop-off/pick-up.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage with parents during drop-off/pick-up.
• Supervise children using the play structure and ensure safety.
• Engage children with age-appropriate activities and play.
• Maintain equipment, toys, books, and play areas in a clean, safe condition.
• Assist with leading enrichment activities for Kids Central.
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies.
• Stand, walk, bend, and interact with children on the floor.
• Work assigned shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Kids Central Instructor

The Madison Area YMCA is seeking a friendly, responsible, and energetic Kids Central Instructor to help provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children while their parents and caregivers enjoy other areas of the facility.

The Kids Central Instructor will:

• Greet and engage with parents and caregivers during child drop-off and pick-up.
• Supervise children while they use the Kids Central play structure and ensure a safe environment.
• Engage and interact with children through age-appropriate activities and play.
• Maintain Kids Central equipment, toys, books, and play areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
• Assist with leading Kids Central enrichment programs and activities.
• Respond to emergencies quickly, calmly, and efficiently.
• Be able to stand, walk, bend, and get down on the floor to interact with and assist children.
• Be available to work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
