Job summary

The Salvation Army - Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center - Phoenix, Arizona is seeking an on-call, non-exempt staff member to support diverse youth programs across library, game room, classroom, computer lab, and events.

Responsibilities include assisting with AEY programs, ensuring membership checks, maintaining safety, and guiding children, parents, and staff with leadership and counseling tasks.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be 16+ years old and capable of teaching activities.
• Team-oriented with reliability and courtesy.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and training requirements.
• Commitment to education philosophy aligned with the center and Salvation Army.
• Ability to work with children, parents and staff in leadership, counseling, and education roles.
• Ability to maintain professional conduct and problem-solving approach.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out program responsibilities in library, game room, education rooms, computer lab, child watch, events and day camp.
• Assist Kroc staff to run successful programs and events.
• Prepare program and event setups for AEY programs and events.
• Verify membership status through CCMS.
• Enforce facility rules and dress code where applicable.
• Provide information about programs and answer questions.
• Maintain safe working environment and report facility issues.
• Demonstrate integrity, enthusiasm and sound judgment.
• Collaborate with volunteers and assist in emergencies.
