Job summary

Life Time, Inc. seeks a Kids and Aquatics Manager in Jacksonville to lead the department, mentor staff, manage budgets, and deliver outstanding member service at our club.

You will oversee daily operations, safety standards, training, and staff development while driving growth of kids’ memberships and related events across the club. This role supports career progression within Life Time’s multi-location network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years customer service experience.
• 2 years coaching/swim instruction experience.
• 2 years lifeguarding experience.
• 2 years supervisory/management experience.
• Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid certifications.
• Complete Life Time Swim Certification and Aquatics & Kids Manager Training.
• CPR/AED certification within 3 months of hire.
• Able to work stationary and move around the club for extended periods.
• Excellent communication with guests about Life Time products and services.
• Swim 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally more than 20 lbs.
• First Aid, Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED within 60 days of hire.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Manages and supports all Team Members including required training and certifications
• Completes and documents daily inspections to ensure the Kids and Aquatics areas cleanliness and safety
• Completes the hiring process and manages the Assistant(s), Supervisor(s) while providing training, feedback, coaching, and direction
• Formulates, monitors and manages the Kids and Aquatics departments within budgetary guidelines daily
• Partners directly with the membership sales team to acquire and retain kids memberships
• Plans, organizes, and executes special events throughout the year to promote value to the members for club participation and increase attendance in fee based programs
• Sets the standard for the Kids and Aquatics Department by providing exceptional customer service and meeting the Members’ needs and expectations

Position Summary

The Kids and Aquatics Manager will service as the leader of our department, and is responsible for the activities and growth of the Aquatics and Kids programming. This includes financial management, hiring, training and supervising team members according to Life Time standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. They will lead a team in a fun and fast-paced environment, who proudly serve our members and guests.

The Kids and Aquatics Manager is responsible for managing the day to day organization, operation, promotion, administration and supervision of all things Kids and Aquatics in the club. Ensures continuous professional growth and development of all team members. Ensures team members provide fun, enthusiastic, safe and engaging activities. They will also oversee and maintain the safety and cleanliness of their perspective spaces.

These leadership roles are responsible for the success and development of additional Kids and Aquatics departments in a designated region and deliver the expected level of member experience and business performance across multiple locations.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of customer service experience
• 2 years of coaching and/or swim instructor experience
• 2 years of lifeguarding experience
• 2 years of supervisory/management experience
• Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid
• Successfully complete and pass the Life Time Swim Certification
• Successfully complete and pass Aquatics & Kids Manager Training
• CPR/AED certification required within the first 3 months of hire
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs
• First Aid certification, Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification required within the first 60 days of hire
• American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s level degree
• NSPF Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
• Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI)
• Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT)
• 1 year of experience teaching or working in a children’s program
• 1 year of experience in day care setting as a lead teacher or two consecutive summers of camp experience with increased responsibility
• Early Childhood Education Certificate
