Job summary

Central Virginia VA Health Care System in Richmond is recruiting two Intermittent Physicians in the Surgery Care Service to support kidney transplant operations, evaluations, and post-operative care.

The role requires board eligibility or certification in General Surgery or Urology with kidney transplant fellowship and experience; strong English proficiency and unrestricted U.S. licensure are essential. This is an intermittent, on-site physician position within the Richmond VA Medical Center.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
• Board eligibility or certification in General Surgery or Urology with kidney transplant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of kidney transplant surgical services (assessment, listing, operative care, postoperative management).
• Perform deceased and living donor kidney transplant evaluations and surgeries; mentor residents and staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements and participate in transplant team activities.
