Job summary

The Virginia Transplant Center at Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Transplant Nephrologist and Medical Director to join our Adult Kidney Transplant Program. Oversight of medical aspects of pre- and post-transplantation care, plus donor evaluation, are key responsibilities.

Candidates should have completed an ACGME Internal Medicine program and a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship, with board eligibility and Virginia licensure.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Program and a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship.
• Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
• Ability to obtain a Virginia State Medical License.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and execution of medical aspects of pre- and post-transplantation care of kidney transplant candidates/recipients, both inpatient and outpatient.
• Evaluation and post donation care for living donor candidates.
• Active participation in CMS QAPI initiatives in accordance with UNOS bylaws and policies.
• Collaboration with Program Director, Transplant Administration and Hospital administration in clinical operations, workflows, and growth of our kidney transplant program.
• Administrative duties include developing the kidney transplant program, optimizing outreach, guiding quality components, and increasing referrals.
