Job summary

The Summit Area YMCA is seeking enthusiastic, dependable individuals to join our Kid Zone team at Summit and Berkeley Heights branches. As a part-time Kid Zone staff member, you will welcome families, supervise children, and lead age-appropriate activities in a safe, engaging environment.

This role offers evening and weekend shifts, up to 25 hours per week, with hourly pay between $17 and $20 based on experience. Join a supportive team dedicated to safe, meaningful childcare.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior childcare or related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to create a safe, positive environment for children.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to meet the physical demands of caring for young children.

Responsibilities

• Welcome children and families with exceptional service.
• Supervise children in a safe, engaging environment.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.
• Keep the facility clean, organized, and inviting.
• Create a fun, safe visit for every child.
• Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and supervision guidelines.
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily duties.
