Theuniversityunion is seeking a Kid Zone Care Attendant to supervise children and support a quality childcare experience aligned with core values. This part-time position involves leading activities, maintaining safety, and communicating with parents in a YMCA setting.

Key requirements include being at least 16 years old, with preferred prior childcare experience and a professional, friendly demeanor. Multilingual candidates are welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Previous child care experience preferred.
• Must be professional, courteous and friendly.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Multi-lingual desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children while leading and participating in program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
• Maintains group control at all times and handles all situations sensitively and with a positive attitude.
• Ensures the safety and cleanliness of program environment.
• Serves as a positive role model and maintains positive relationships with parents, children, and staff.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to dress code, medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
