OpenTrain AI, Inc. is seeking a remote contractor to create and review KiCad schematics and PCB designs. You will craft layouts, generate manufacturing outputs, and contribute clear, structured instructions to improve AI training data on electronics workflows.

The role emphasizes hands-on KiCad work, detailed technical communication, and the ability to produce step-by-step prompts for PCB design processes. Prior advanced electronics background is preferred for success in this contract position.

Qualificações

• Strong hands-on experience with KiCad, including PCB layout and schematic capture.
• Proficient in electronic circuit design and design-rule checks.
• Ability to record your screen and communicate clearly about technical tasks.
• English proficiency at least B2 level.
• Master's or PhD in electrical or electronics engineering preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Create and modify PCB designs and circuit schematics in KiCad.
• Place components, route boards, and manage multilayer designs.
• Run DRCs, troubleshoot layout issues, and review complex designs.
• Generate Gerber files and other manufacturing outputs.

• Contribute to AI training work through annotation or task descriptions.

The work

You will use KiCad to create and modify circuit schematics and PCB designs. Your work will also help AI systems understand practical PCB design and electronics workflows through clear instructions and structured prompts.

• Helpful background: Multilayer PCB manufacturing, electronics or hardware engineering, and human‑data work such as annotation, RLHF, or AI model evaluation.
