Job summary

Bob Bell Kia is seeking an experienced Technician to join our service team in Baltimore. Prior Kia or Hyundai experience is preferred as the role focuses on diagnosing and repairing vehicles to manufacturer specifications, with pay on a flat-rate basis and potential earnings up to $125,000+ per year.

Certified technicians may qualify for a sign-on bonus up to $6,000. The shop offers modern equipment, an OSHA-compliant environment, and opportunities for career growth within the dealership group.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures.
• Operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose components using diagnostic tools.
• Repair vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, A/C, etc.) as per specs.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional repairs and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under manufacturer specifications and warranty.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience required
• Kia Certified a plus
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Team oriented mindset
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and perform service procedures
• Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
