Job Description: KHI MEDICAL Traveling Construction Foreman

Summary

KHI Medical is a growing medical construction company specializing in renovating operating rooms and installing surgical equipment nationwide. Our team is expanding due to our commitment to quality service, integrity, transparency, and hard work focused on superior customer satisfaction. We are seeking a construction foreman capable of managing work while collaborating with the crew and small renovation teams. Candidates should have a construction background and familiarity with electrical work, structural steelwork, and blueprint reading.

Job Purpose

KHI Construction Foremen are essential to our success, representing the company while managing workers, subcontractors, material deliveries, and on-site activities to ensure schedules are met. They lead small teams on projects ranging from equipment installation (surgical booms, lights, computers) to complete OR demos/renovations. Foremen must plan, communicate, execute, and debrief effectively to ensure consistency. They also serve as the client’s face, handling administrative tasks and communications to build trust and encourage repeat business.

Key Attributes of a KHI Construction Foreman
  • Expertise in construction, capable of leading medical equipment technicians, network specialists, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings accurately.
  • Understanding of building codes related to electrical, fire suppression, medical gas, etc.
  • Proactive preparation and planning to ensure efficient work on-site.
  • Effective communication of plans with team members and clients.
  • Ability to manage changes according to KHI priorities, including client needs, efficiency, and safety.
  • Providing regular updates to clients via in-person, email, and online communications.
  • Debriefing with crew, management, and clients to identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or college degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • At least three years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel out of town 80% or more of the time.
  • Experience working alongside teams installing equipment.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and instructions.
  • Skill in assessing scope changes and requesting change orders.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet project milestones (nationwide).
  • Physical ability to work in crouched or kneeling positions and confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Proficiency in Computer Use
  • Google Drive, Google Calendar, Word, Spreadsheets, Email, Internet.
Compensation
  • Starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $85,000, depending on experience.
  • Benefits include Medical insurance and a 401K retirement plan.
