Job summary

Keystone Electric, a division of Zenith Systems, seeks an experienced Electrical Construction Project Estimator to join our Erie, PA team. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial electrical projects and coordinate with clients, architects, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience, strong knowledge of electrical systems and codes, and proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid, plus MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of electrical construction project estimating experience.
• Experience with takeoffs, materials quotations and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and installation methods.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid; MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates from drawings and specifications and coordinate with architects/engineers.
• Solicit quotes from vendors/subcontractors and prepare scopes of work.
• Perform takeoffs and use Accubid; review BOMs and scopes.
• Prepare contractor/user proposals and follow up with recipients.
• Support bid preparation and value engineering as needed.
• Assist in project execution and client relations.

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Estimator qualified in electrical systems to join our Erie PA Electrical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial electrical construction projects. The Project Estimator will collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to support seamless project execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop an understanding of all project specifications and drawings, including electrical and all other trade disciplines (General trades, HVAC, and Plumbing).
• Assure that all ambiguities and inconsistencies are addressed and answered by the architect or engineer in a timely manner and prior to the deadline.
• Verify existing site conditions.
• Solicit materials quotations from Keystone vendors and subcontractors, including generation of work scope if needed. Prepare scopes of work and marked up drawings if subcontractors are required on a project, i.e. excavation, pole bases, rigging and hoisting, concrete equipment pads, etc.
• Perform takeoff and measuring utilizing Bluebeam or Livecount.
• Estimate new projects utilizing Accubid software.
• Review of vendors' and subcontractors' bills of materials/ work scopes to assure that quotations are complete.
• Review of the estimate to check for errors and omissions.
• Review and understanding of other trades shop drawings and details, such as millwork, casework, furniture, ceiling systems, mechanical equipment, power-operated doors, etc. to make sure the electrical equipment specified will work and coordinate with the other trades materials.
• Generate contractor or user specific proposal letter using Keystone Electric standard proposal template, including exclusions and clarifications.
• Follow up on a regular basis with recipients of Keystone Electric proposals.
• Client relationship building and business development.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Construction Project Estimator.
• Commercial Construction experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, materials, codes, regulations, and installation methods.
• Proficiency with estimating, management, and scheduling software: Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid, as well as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate with a wide spectrum of individuals.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Project Estimating in electrical construction.
