Job summary

Family Dollar in Ashland, Mississippi seeks a part-time retail associate to deliver exceptional customer service and manage daily store operations. You will greet customers, assist with merchandise selection, and complete sales transactions while supporting inventory, deliveries, and store cleanliness.

In this role you may open or close the store in the absence of leadership, oversee basic asset protection, and help with replenishment and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (and up to 55 lbs occasionally) and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and interpret operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Prefer prior management experience in retail, grocery or drug store environments.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist and thank customers in a positive manner; answer questions and resolve inquiries.
• Open, stock and maintain a clean, well-stocked store; oversee store conditions in absence of managers.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system; handle customer funds securely.
• Assist in unloading deliveries, organizing merchandise and replenishing shelves.
• Support asset protection and provide operational assistance to cashiers and store team.
