Job summary

The Royal Standard in Birmingham, AL is seeking a proactive Store Manager on Duty to lead daily operations and deliver outstanding customer service. You will supervise associates, manage POS transactions, handle exchanges and refunds, and ensure the store meets sales goals while upholding policies and brand standards.

In this role you will coordinate opening and closing duties, oversee merchandise presentation, inventory, and staff tasks, and escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of retail sales experience preferred.
• Proficiency with basic computing and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and develop customer relationships and resolve service issues.
• Tend sales using POS for exchanges, refunds, transfers, etc.
• Aim to reach or exceed store sales goals and motivate staff to do so.
• Enforce store policies with customers and employees.
• Arrange merchandise displays and signage to promote sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and overall store appearance.
• Tag merchandise and verify accuracy of pricing and discounts.
• Oversee inventory and store supplies; perform opening/closing duties.

• Delegating daily tasks to associates and supervising associate activities while acting as the Manager on Duty.
• Communicating with and assisting the Store Manager with any and all operations of the store.
• Special projects as assigned.

• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with customers and employees.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Schedule Requirements

• Ability to work 16+ hours per week
• Ability to work 2 closing shifts per week
• Ability to work 2 Saturday per month (Full or part day)
• Ability to work 2 Sundays per month from open to close (11:45am - 6:15pm)

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand and walk 4-5 hours at a time.
• Must have ability to view a computer screen accurately.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the assistance of another employee.

Education & Experience
