Job summary

Gerrity’s Ace Hardware in Blakely, PA is seeking a Shift Supervisor who supports store leadership, opening/closing tasks, and coaching staff. This role emphasizes proactive customer assistance and maintaining merchandise availability and store presentation.

The ideal candidate brings retail experience, strong communication, and a commitment to excellent service, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years previous experience in retail.
• High School or GED equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive representation of Gerrity’s Ace Hardware.
• Proactively greet and assist customers in solving problems.
• Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
• Assist with opening & closing of the store while overseeing staff.
• Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.
• Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
• Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.
• Assist with merchandise resets through the store.
• Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

A Shift Supervisor is a sales associate who has additional leadership responsibilities beyond typical sales or service tasks. The Shift Supervisor assists the store manager and assistant store manager with the opening and closing of the store. This includes supervising staff with daily opening duties and nightly closing duties and preparing the store for the next day’s business.

Gerrity’s Ace Hardware was started in 2020 by Gerrity’s Supermarket Owner, Joe Fasula. The Clarks Summit PA location was the first Ace Hardware purchased by Gerrity’s. Gerrity’s Ace currently has 5 locations and plans to open more in the future. We are affiliated with Ace Hardware Corporation based in Oak Brook, IL which is a retailer-owned hardware wholesaler that began operation in 1924.
