General Summary

At Vilter by Copeland, we deliver world-class industrial compression solutions for demanding applications that enable the energy transition. Our proprietary single-screw technology provides proven reliability. The Strategic Account Manager will have a hunter mentality, rallying peers to deliver top products and services across high-value accounts. This role is key within our Americas sales team, responsible for developing account strategies, strengthening customer relationships, and achieving Trusted Advisor status to foster preference for Vilter products.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales and margin targets for Vilter gas compression products in the US.
  • Manage a territory that includes new and existing accounts across North America, focusing on landfill Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), biogas digesters, LNG, and CHP plants.
  • Conduct responsibilities ethically, in line with organizational policies and laws.
  • Develop relationships with end-users, consultants, and contractors to drive product specifications.
  • Promote Vilter’s value proposition through visits, tradeshows, and industry associations.
  • Gain “Trusted Advisor” status with key customers and advise on relationship management.
  • Maintain forecasts, project details, and competitor insights in Salesforce CRM.
  • Gather market insights, advise on threats and opportunities.
  • Identify and qualify new project opportunities for leadership review.
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure customer satisfaction and performance.
  • Support sales proposals, negotiations, and contractual agreements.
  • Manage the sales process from inquiry to purchase order closure.
  • Provide aftersales support to ensure customer satisfaction.
Education & Skills Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience in industrial gas compression, preferably with an OEM.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Regular travel, up to 100 nights/year.
  • Strong business sense and results-driven mindset.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiations.
  • Ability to communicate technically and commercially across organizational levels and with customers.
  • Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
