Job description

We are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to support the growth and development of our key accounts portfolio in France.

Reporting directly to the Country Manager, France, your main mission will be to maximize commercial opportunities within our existing client base while identifying new strategic distributor partners. You will play a key role in implementing our commercial strategy and will work closely with the Country Manager to ensure sustainable growth in the French market.

This position is based in Lyon, with an initial training period at our company headquarters in London. Regular travel within France is required, as well as occasional trips to London for internal meetings and trade shows.

You'll be:

  1. Holding full ownership of assigned key accounts and territories: act as the main point of contact for all commercial, contractual, and operational matters.
  2. Providing strategic account development: design and implement a tailored annual strategy for each account, aligned with the national business objectives.
  3. Actively following up on new business opportunities: respond to inquiries, manage commercial opportunities proactively, and handle client requests efficiently.
  4. Providing long-term growth management: identify and activate growth levers, monitor account performance, and adapt commercial actions accordingly.
  5. Coordinating internally: work closely with marketing, logistics, finance (especially credit control), and customer service teams to ensure smooth account management.
  6. Based in the field: conduct store visits, lead product range reviews, attend trade shows, and follow up on leads generated during events.
  7. Studying the market and offering recommendations: analyze industry trends to anticipate client needs and suggest relevant product assortments.
  8. Maintaining order tracking: track orders carefully, verify customer data, handle administrative tasks related to accounts, and provide regular reports to management.
  9. Working cross-functionally: assist the European Sales Manager and Country Managers with broader business development initiatives as needed.

You'll have:

  1. Previous experience as a Key Account Manager
  2. Proven experience managing a book of accounts
  3. A track record of growing accounts or territories in a strategic, commercial manner
  4. High accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail
  5. A personable and positive approach, accustomed to maximizing sales through professional relationships while understanding business limitations
  6. A mindful approach to the 'Jellycat' tone and communication style associated with our brand
  7. Confidence in making commercial decisions, and willingness to take direction from senior team members when needed
  8. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  9. Fluency in French and English
