The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Key Account Manager for Mercedes-Benz in China (Beijing), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  1. Driving Mercedes-Benz China sales, vehicle penetration, and spec-in wins via MB direct business and Tier Supplier sales.
  2. Building a strong opportunity pipeline based on the full 3M portfolio.
  3. Actively participating in the New Model Planning approach and process.
  4. Transferring spec-in wins from Home Country to China and implementing Application Replication opportunities.
  5. Monitoring “Close-Lost” opportunities to initiate competitive conversion actions.
  6. Exploring Quick-Fix opportunities through targeted customer visits and line walks.
  7. Collaborating with the international Account team, local Tier Team, Portfolio, Sales Operations, and Application Engineering to ensure effective “Pitch & Catch.”
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Experience with Automotive OEM / Tier Supplier key account management / sales (Mercedes-Benz experience would be a benefit)
  2. Master or Bachelor degree in technical disciplines or business engineering or comparable
  3. Experience in project management combined with strong communication skills
  4. Fluency in Chinese and English
  5. Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce (CRM), Power BI, and other relevant automotive systems
Additional Skills / Preferred Qualifications

Additional knowledge or skills that could help you succeed include:

  1. Experience in driving spec-in wins via New Model Planning, Application Replication, Pitch & Catch, Competitive Conversion, and Quick Fix.
  2. Analytical thinking and a proactive, results-oriented attitude.

  • Travel expectations: Up to 50% national travel and occasional international travel.
