Job Description:
The Position

The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing business within specific key accounts, selling into the current client base, ensuring customer retention, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and deliver complex opportunities. The role involves high-level engagement with C-level clients. The ideal candidate will work with clients to create tailored solutions, consult throughout the sales process, and be energetic, articulate, and driven to close sales and increase revenue.

Key Account Manager Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management, to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Meet targets for profitable sales volume and key objectives within assigned accounts.
  • Develop well-planned sales opportunities with a targeted set of accounts/customers.
  • Lead joint planning processes with key accounts to develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and milestones for one to three years.
  • Continuously assess, clarify, and validate customer needs.
  • Lead solution development efforts to address customer needs, coordinating all necessary company resources.
  • Achieve key customer objectives as defined by company management.
  • Possess expert knowledge of complex product selling.
  • Effectively promote the client's environment and requirements internally within inter-functional groups.
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales demos and presentations, leveraging expertise from other teams as needed.
  • Manage a portfolio of customers proactively, building and maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Monitor, track, and report sales activity and performance using CRM systems.
  • Travel as necessary for client visits, conferences, trade shows, and training.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business/Management, Accounting, Agricultural Sciences, or equivalent experience; degree not mandatory.
  • Preferably with an agribusiness sales technology background.
  • Experience in ERP sales (Infor, EPICOR, SAP, Oracle).
  • 5 to 10 years of enterprise-level technology sales experience.
  • Managing revenue of over $1M annually.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage complex sales cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to advocate for customers internally and sell effectively into C-level management.
  • Proactive in learning, self-managing, multitasking, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote opportunity; candidates can work from anywhere in the US.
