Job summary

Linde plc in Michigan seeks an accomplished outside sales professional to build a new sales territory from scratch, identifying prospects, developing relationships, and creating a sustainable book of business.

You will develop a territory plan, prospect via cold calling and onsite visits, promote industrial gases and welding solutions, manage a robust pipeline, forecast accurately, and negotiate terms that drive long-term value for customers and Linde.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5–7 years of outside sales or territory-management experience.
  • Experience acquiring new customers and developing business within underdeveloped or newly assigned territories.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

Job description

  • You will build and develop a new sales territory from scratch by identifying prospects, developing relationships, and creating a sustainable book of business
  • Develop and execute a territory plan targeting key industries, high-potential customers, and new market opportunities
  • Prospect consistently through cold calling, onsite visits, networking, referrals, and other business-development activities
  • Promote industrial gases, welding equipment, supplies, and related solutions to prospective customers while developing value-based customer relationships
  • Achieve sales, gross-profit, and new-business-development goals by managing an active sales pipeline and providing accurate forecasts and updates
  • You will negotiate pricing, product supply agreements, and commercial terms that create long-term value for both customer and company
  • Collaborate with local operations, customer service, product specialists, and leadership to ensure a strong customer experience
  • Support marketing initiatives, promotions, new-product launches, and maintain complete and accurate customer setup, pricing, and account information
What makes you great
  • You hold a High School Diploma or GED, with a bachelor’s degree preferred to provide a strong educational foundation
  • Bring five to seven years of successful outside sales, business development, or territory-management experience
  • Demonstrate success acquiring new customers and developing business within underdeveloped or newly assigned territories
  • Initiate relationships confidently through cold outreach, onsite prospecting, networking, and community involvement
  • Apply a defined sales process with measurable success in building and converting a new-business pipeline
  • Work independently with persistence and self-direction in a territory requiring substantial market development
  • Possess strong communication, negotiation, planning, and relationship-building skills to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Preferably have experience selling industrial products, gases, welding equipment, or other technical solutions, with knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication, construction, automotive, agriculture, or related industries considered a plus; hold a valid driver’s license and be able to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory
