Job summary

The Salvation Army in Charleston, SC is seeking a seasonal full-time Driver to support the kettle and Angel Tree programs. You will operate a 12-passenger van to transport bellringers and deliver kettles, with additional duties coordinating drop-offs and pickups for Angel Tree items.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of driving experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of automotive operation experience, or equivalent.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license.
• 21 years of age or older to drive the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Drive Salvation Army vehicle (12 Passenger Van) to transport bellringers and place kettles in designated locations.
• Drop off and pick up Angel Tree items as part of the kettle and Angel Tree program.
• Assist staff with drop-offs and pickups for the Angel Tree program as needed.

Job Location: NSC-Charleston Corps - CHARLESTON, SC, Salary Range: $11.76Hourly, Job Category: Christmas, Seasonal Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive a Salvation Army vehicle (12 Passenger Van) transport bellringers and place kettles into specific locations. Drop off and pick up Angel Tree items. Perform other related work as needed in The Salvation Army Kettle and Angel Tree program.
• Transporting bellringers to and from if needed. Dropping off and picking up kettles at specific locations. Work with staff on drop offs and pickups for Angel Tree program.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
• Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, snow, heat or discomforts associated with heavy traffic.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU::

• High School Diploma or GED AND
• 2 years experience operating an automotive vehicle OR
• any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Current Valid Driver's License
• Drive must be at least 21years or older.
